Within the engine development department, the system function design group is responsible to design control concepts to meet new customer and legal requirements. Job description
- Develop heavy duty diesel engines with focus on designing and validating control and diagnostic concepts for fuel injection equipment (FIE)
- Definition and setting up system level requirements related to performance for fuel injection equipment and its controls, based on new emission and OBD requirements
- Setting up FMEA and specifying the impact of the new content on the system related requirements for various systems;
- Create and follow up the validation plan for FIE performance and its controls, using SIL, HIL or engine testing
- Taking the lead in root cause analysis and resolution process of FIE related (field) issues and deliver improvement proposal;
- Support calibration engineers with calibration of new controller concepts.
Functie-eisen
- MSc degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering specialized in dynamics and control
- 3+ years of experience with fuel injection controller development (EU and NA emission and OBD regulations)
- Experience on Six Sigma related processes (i.e. DMAIC, Design For Six Sigma, FMEA, P-diagram, fault tree analysis)
- Excellent technical know-how, structured problem-solving and ability to get to the core of issues efficiently and pragmatically
- Experience in leading a team of technical experts and system level engineering (presenting, planning, tech lead, stakeholder management).
